Philips Canada Receives Canada Health Infoway Certification

(Toronto)Canada Health Infoway (Infoway) and Philips Canada (Philips) announced today that IntelliSpace PACS, a medical imaging technology which provides storage and access to images from multiple modalities, achieved Infoway’s Diagnostic Imaging (DI) certification.

"We congratulate Philips for achieving Infoway Diagnostic Imaging certification for their IntelliSpace Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS) solution. This milestone ensures that their solution conforms to the national and international standards for privacy, security, and interoperability,” says Mark Nenadovic, Group Director, Certification Services, Canada Health Infoway.

A DI solution maintains and manages information about orders and results for DI tests, which constitute a vital part of a patient electronic health record (EHR). The DI pre-implementation certification evaluates and assesses these solutions offered as a hosted service and/or a product to be deployed at client sites.

Philips aims to address the bigger picture to help clinicians adapt successfully to the increasing size and scope of health care. IntelliSpace PACS offers intelligent, connected and secure solutions that optimize workflow while delivering context relevant, efficient, fully integrated, compliant care with a partnership that brings peace of mind by keeping compliant with the latest data security and patient privacy standards.

“Philips products and services help physicians streamline radiology image review and analysis, collaborate easily with colleagues across the enterprise, and transmit images and information as needed,” said Iain Burns, CEO, Philips Canada. “Our IntelliSpace PACS solution simplifies radiology imaging workflows while maintaining deep clinical capabilities. It provides secure access to meaningful imaging information. We are thrilled with our Infoway National Class certification. This is a true testament to our dedication to innovation and health care.”
