Health Care Organizations Recognized for their Clinical Leadership in Improving the Patient Experience

(Toronto) – Three Canadian health care organizations have been recognized in the ImagineNation LEADing Practice Challenge for their leadership in improving the patient experience through the effective use of digital health technologies.

The LEADing Practice Challenge asked Canadian health care organizations to explain how they are using digital health solutions to improve the patient experience. A panel of judges evaluated each entry with the top entries sharing $12,000 in awards.

The three award recipients exemplify the ability to improve the patient experience, and represent the best practice characteristics for use in clinical practice by Learning from others; Exemplifying benefits; Accelerating adoption; and Delivering results.

Congratulations to the following award recipients:

First Place ($6,000):
Magenta Health
Magenta Health implemented an e-booking solution that allowed patients to book appointments in their medical clinic.

Second Place ($4,000):
myUHN Patient Portal
University Health Network (UHN) implemented myUHN Patient Portal, a secure website where patients can access their personal health information.

Third Place ($2,000):
Citizen Health Information Portal
eHealth Saskatchewan launched a citizen-centric patient portal to provide individuals with access to their health information.

Since 2012, the LEADing Practice Initiative has been seeking out exemplary clinical practices to profile their adoption and use of digital health technologies in patient care based on a framework set out by Accreditation Canada. This year, the LEADing Practice Initiative partnered with the ImagineNation Challenges to focus on consumer digital health technology.
