"By achieving Infoway certification, Med Access Electronic Medical Record version 4 has demonstrated conformance with the privacy, security and interoperability standards the marketplace is looking for,” said Richard Alvarez, President and CEO, Canada Health Infoway.
In order to achieve certification, Med Access EMR underwent an assessment process to demonstrate that it met or exceeded the standards set by Infoway Certification Services.
“This certification is an important milestone for the Med Access EMR and the customers we serve as it provides a rigorous, credible assessment of our ability to connect health care professionals to the data they need at the point of care, and our ability to deliver an EMR solution in a private and secure fashion,” said Paul Walker, President & CEO, Med Access Inc.
Med Access serves over 4,000 users, in five provinces, representing 30 medical specialities. The company is a leader in interoperability with interfaces in five provinces connecting health care professionals to provincial eHealth assets to improve the flow of communication and ultimately patient care.
Infoway's strategic efforts to hasten EMR adoption and use at the point of care in community and out-patient care settings, leverages and connects to the work that has already been done to build jurisdictional electronic health record systems. These systems allow authorized clinicians to access key information about their patients' health histories.
