Engaging with industry leaders who are at the forefront of developing innovative technological solutions.

Overview

One of the keys to realizing the vision of a more connected and collaborative health system is engaging with and convening industry leaders who are at the forefront of developing innovative technological solutions.

We are actively working with these stakeholders to strengthen the ecosystem in which we operate and enhance the partnerships that drive our initiatives forward.

Industry Collaborative

Our Industry Collaborative is an initiative designed to foster meaningful partnerships between the public and private sectors and accelerate the development and adoption of innovative health solutions. The initiative also aims to create an avenue for digital health industry partners to learn about progress on interoperability and provide insights to support the effective implementation of Roadmap priorities.

The Industry Charter, a list of guiding principles created by the Industry Collaborative, articulates a shared vision for Connected Care and is intended to be embraced by Canada’s health technology partners, providers, and federal, provincial and territorial governments. To help stakeholders promote the Charter, we have developed a toolkit that helps simplify advocacy for interoperability and ensures consistent messaging across the health sector.

Vendor Innovation Program

The Vendor Innovation Program (VIP) is designed to accelerate the development and clinical implementation of real-world interoperability innovations that are aligned with the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap. Through the program, Infoway supports vendor-led innovation that addresses practical health system challenges, advances the adoption of national health data exchange standards, and helps improve how health information is accessed, shared, and used across the continuum of care.

The program brings together vendors, clinicians, and health system partners to test and evaluate solutions in real clinical settings, generating practical evidence to support broader adoption and scale. Areas of focus include health information exchange, patient access, workflow improvement, care coordination, and the responsible use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Early Implementer Program

The Early Implementer Program is a framework to support industry stakeholders in adopting Pan-Canadian standards. The program currently supports the Patient Summary, eReferral, and Health Application Lightweight Protocol (HALO) initiatives.
