The Connected Care Clinical Student Scholarship, offered by Canada Health Infoway, is designed to support clinical students pursuing education or certifications in digital health fields in Canada. The program offers up to $3,000 per student. Eligible program topics can include interoperability, electronic health records, AI in healthcare, health informatics, health data analytics, and other areas that support the goals outlined in Infoway’s Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap.
The purpose of the scholarship is to support and empower students pursuing education in digital health, interoperability, and Connected Care. By providing financial assistance, the scholarship aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of future healthcare professionals, fostering innovation and accelerating the adoption of interoperable digital health solutions that contribute to the advancement of Canada’s healthcare system.

- Currently enrolled in a clinical training program from an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada;
- Recently graduated from a clinical training program within the last five years (ie. 2020 or later) from an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada; or
- Currently enrolled in a clinical residency program, fellowship or clinical placement in Canada.
As such, funding is only available for educational programs offered by accredited Canadian institutions. Applicants pursuing digital health programs outside of Canada are not eligible.
Eligible programs should focus on the integration of technology within the healthcare sector. Areas of study may include:
- Interoperability/Connected Care;
- Electronic health records, health information systems, health data management;
- Digital health innovation;
- Healthcare data analytics;
- Digital health policy;
- AI in healthcare;
- Health data, terminology or exchange standards.

Canadian or international students studying or training outside of Canada are not eligible.
