Andrea MacLean

Director, Interoperability Standards, Canada Health Infoway

Andrea is responsible for Infoway’s National Release Centre for the pan-Canadian standards: SNOMED CT, pan-Canadian LOINC Observation Code Database (pCLOCD) and HL7. She has more than 20 years of health care IT implementation experience and has worked extensively with implementing clinical content standards, and standardized and encoded synoptic reporting. Andrea has represented Canada on many international informatics committees. She has a BSc and MLT.

Carly Weeks

National Health Reporter at the Globe and Mail

Carly Weeks has been a national health reporter with the Globe and Mail for 12 years and has established a reputation as a fearless journalist who routinely shines a spotlight on important issues. She has broken a number of major national news stories, being the first to report on anti-vaccine billboards being placed in the Greater Toronto Area and a campaign led by a firearm lobby group to discredit a trauma surgeon calling for stricter gun laws in Canada. Weeks has won several awards for her coverage.

Douglas Brown

Pharmacist/Owner, Pharmacy Associates of Port Perry

Douglas Brown has spent almost 30 years as a community pharmacist, but has also been involved with educating young health professionals. In his current role as a pharmacist within the Port Perry and surrounding community, he has worked to develop a unique and patient-focused practice with specialties in long-term care and geriatric pharmacy, diabetes and smoking cessation. He is also a travel medicine specialist at his co-located clinic, Travel Health Associates.

Holly Witteman

PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Family & Emergency Medicine, Université Laval, Quebec City

With an interdisciplinary background in human factors engineering and social sciences, Holly’s research is about human-centred digital health, including a focus on how best to adapt technology to people rather than expecting people to adapt to technology. She specializes in human-computer interaction in health education, risk communication and decision making, including design methods to support inclusive user- and patient-centredness.

Jeff Turnbull

Medical Director, Ottawa Inner City Health

Dr. Turnbull has pursued an interest in poverty and its effect on health nationally and internationally. He is one of the founders and is currently the Medical Director of Ottawa Inner City Health Inc., which works to improve the health of people who are chronically homeless. He is the recipient of several national and international grants and awards, including the Order of Canada, the Order of Ontario, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and an Honorary Degree in Law from Carleton University.

Jonathan Fleury

Director of eHealth, First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba (FNHSSM)

Jonathan is a member of Skownan First Nation. He is a Project Management Professional, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) specialist, and Certified Professional Trainer. In his role at the First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba, his priority is advancing digital health in First Nations. Jonathan volunteers for various community organizations and events and is a single dad to three teenage sons.

Joni Brennan

President, Digital ID & Authentication Council of Canada

Building on more than 15 years of hands-on experience in identity access management innovation, adoption and industry standards development, Joni helps the DIACC fulfill its vision to deliver the resources needed to establish a digital identity ecosystem that accelerates the digital economy, grows Canada's GDP and benefits all Canadians. Joni builds diplomatic and impactful collaborative relationships and formalizes strategic partnerships.

Mario Voltolina

EVP Product Engineering and Operations & Chief Technology Officer

Mario has more than 30 years of experience in the information technology industry, mainly in health care and financial services, with some interesting detours into manufacturing and geographic information systems. Prior to joining Infoway, he developed his experience with large technology companies such as Sun Microsystems and Oracle, as well as start-ups and medium sized technology firms in the fields of performance measurement and management, process control, life insurance, trading platforms and exchange systems. Mario holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Toronto.

Michael Green

President & Chief Executive Officer, Canada Health Infoway

Michael Green is a strong leader and a creative, strategic thinker who has an international reputation and a proven track record of transforming health care through the use of digital health. He has leveraged international research and innovation to advance the digital health agenda, create jobs and stimulate economic growth in Canada. Michael has been President and CEO of Canada Health Infoway since August 2014.

Puneet Seth

Chief Medical Officer, InputHealth Systems

Dr. Puneet Seth is a practising physician, technologist and entrepreneur who is passionate about redesigning health care. An alumnus of McMaster's medical school, he has been engaged in the digital health industry for nearly a decade, having worked on health care podcasts and a social media health educational tool. Presently he is Chief Medical Officer at InputHealth Systems, an award-winning digital health company that is shifting the paradigm of health records and helping patients connect with their care teams.

Shelagh Maloney

EVP, Engagement & Marketing

Shelagh Maloney is responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships at Infoway, including those with patients, clinicians and the federal government, as well as the standards community. She is also responsible for performance analytics, and coordinating and executing communication and marketing efforts in support of Infoway products and services. She has held a number of board positions at the international, national and local levels, including Vice Chair of SNOMED International and Board Chair of Digital Health Canada. In 2017, Shelagh received the inaugural Women Leaders in Digital Health Award.
