The Data Impact Challenge demonstrated that in only eight weeks teams were able to prepare quality responses to important health care questions. In partnership with Choosing Wisely Canada, Canadian Institute for Health Information, the Canadian Association of Health Services and Policy Research, and other supporting organizations, Infoway challenged authorized users of data sets to answer questions about appropriateness of health care, such as:
- How often are laboratory or diagnostic imaging tests repeated within ninety days?
- Does prompt access to a discharge summary by primary care providers reduce readmissions and/or emergency department visits?
Please join us to learn about the Challenge outcomes and the highly anticipated announcement of the award recipients!
The Data Impact Challenge was launched in May 2015 and closed on July 15, 2015. With more than 40 entries received, valuable information was accessed and a new information sourcing model tested.
