Infoway challenges businesses: Share how health IT has impacted your company for a chance to award grants to academic institutions

Canada Health Infoway Impact Challenges offers chance to ‘pay it forward’

July 10, 2013 (Toronto) – Canadian companies that share how public investments in digital health have impacted their businesses will be entered into a draw to decide which college or university will benefit from three grants worth $2,000 each, designed to foster future impact in health IT, announced Richard Alvarez, President and CEO, Canada Health Infoway.

“One of the spinoff benefits of investment in digital health is economic stimulation, which is having a positive impact on the Canadian business community,” said Alvarez.  “Recent investments are increasing real gross domestic product by more than $1 billion and creating more than 10,000 person years of employment.  We want to hear about the impact this is having on businesses large and small.”

Businesses participating in the Challenge will be vying for their chance to allocate one of three unrestricted donations of $2,000 to a health, informatics, or other relevant program at an accredited Canadian academic institution of their choice.

“Whether you’re producing clinical systems, selling consumer apps or providing implementation support, if it’s related to digital health, we want to hear about it,” said Jennifer Zelmer, Executive Vice President, Canada Health Infoway.

Patients and those whose careers have been impacted by digital health are also invited to participate in the new series of Challenges, which end on July 31, 2013.
