Access to electronic information benefits patients

January 20, 2015 (Regina) - A historic milestone has been reached now that a comprehensive provincial electronic health record (EHR) for Saskatchewan residents is a reality. Health providers with access to the EHR Viewer can now see their patients' diagnostic imaging results, completing the core components of an EHR for Saskatchewan residents, as defined by Canada Health Infoway.

The EHR Viewer is a secure website developed for Saskatchewan health care providers to give access to patient information regardless of where an individual goes for care or where they live in the province.

Fraser Health and Canada Health Infoway Mark Digital Health Week with New Electronic Medical Record Systems

November 13, 2014 (Surrey, BC) – Canada Health Infoway (Infoway), Intrahealth and Fraser Health are celebrating Digital Health Week by announcing they have partnered to implement an Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record (aEMR) system in some of Fraser Health's primary and ambulatory care clinics. This system, called Profile, enables health care providers to collect, share, and analyze patient information and presents a broad view of the patient's journey across different care settings. This works to improve the flow of information from the patient to the health care provider that ultimately benefits patient care. Canada Health Infoway has invested $1.8 million in this project.
