The Health System Canadians Want: Results of a Major National Consultation - Download presentation Conducted by Canada Health Infoway in partnership with Environics Research, A Healthy Dialogue engaged with more than 50,000 Canadians from across the country to find out what their hopes, concerns and expectations are for the health system of the future. In addition to a cross-sectional view of the general Canadian population, the consultation focused on key demographic groups such as Indigenous peoples, vulnerable/marginalized populations, and Canadians living in rural/remote areas. What are the Keys to Sustainable Virtual Care? Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Canadians have increasingly embraced a “virtual first” approach to their health care. While virtual care uptake has been rapid, it is essential to ensure that its implementation is sustained beyond the current health crisis. This session will discuss key factors that will enable continued adoption of virtual care. Themes include the importance of clinical and political leadership, patient advocacy, health equity and accessibility, and change management support for patients and providers. Closing Keynote Introduction Setting up the NHS AI Lab The NHS AI Lab was launched in 2019 to accelerate the safe and effective adoption of AI in health and care in the United Kingdom. It brings together government organisations, health and care providers, academics and technology companies to address some of the biggest challenges related to the development, regulations, and deployment of AI technologies that meet the needs of the UK population. In this keynote session, Dr Indra Joshi will reflect on her experience of setting up a national AI Lab, share accomplishments to date and outline the Lab's areas of focus for international collaboration.
