Evolving with the Changing Health Care Landscape - Download presentation

The unprecedented disruption created by the COVID-19 pandemic is highlighting the need for digital health. There is a higher demand for virtual care.  Patients and providers have new perceptions about virtual care and are more likely to use it, and new reimbursement models are making it possible for virtual care to be adopted across Canada.  Furthermore, virtual care can enable an effective response to a second wave of COVID-19 and help increase access to mental health and other services.  Join Infoway CEO Michael Green as he describes the changing landscape of health care in Canada, the increased prevalence of virtual as a valid care delivery mechanism and how Infoway is evolving to best serve its stakeholders, including patients, caregivers and families.

Mental Health and Substance Use:  The issues are real – can interventions be virtual?

Now more than ever, issues of mental health and substance use are front and centre.  Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, 52% of Canadians identified their mental wellness had declined, and of those reporting poorer mental health, they were more likely to have increased their use of cannabis, alcohol and tobacco.  These were phenomena experienced globally.

But as we know, access to mental health and substance use supports was a challenge before the pandemic and continue to be so.  During the height of the pandemic shutdown, many supports abruptly stopped.  This while individuals were feeling more isolated, anxious, and depressed.  How is this challenge best addressed and what are the options in our new reality?  Can virtual interactions and other digital solutions offer new support pathways?

We have assembled a panel of experts to not only discuss these questions but share their experiences and insights for the future.
