Patients Included

patients included

We are proud that the 2020 Infoway Partnership Fall Series will be Patients Included.

This means that we are “committed to incorporating the experience of patients as experts in living with their condition while ensuring that they are neither excluded nor exploited.” For more information on the Patients Included charter, please visit the website.

Patients Included status recognizes that the event has satisfied all five criteria as identified in the Patients Included charter.

  1. Patients or caregivers with experience relevant to the conference’s central theme actively participate in the design and planning of the event, including the selection of themes, topics and speakers.

We have partnered with Anne O’Riordan, an Patient Advisor, working with us from the earliest stages of planning the Partnership Fall Series to shape the program themes, select speakers, advise on the complimentary patient admission, and ensure the best possible experience for patient/caregiver attendees. Anne will also be virtually present during the entirety of the Fall Series, as well as partake in feedback sessions post each fall series (September, October and November) to ensure strengths and opportunities have been captured and will be reflected in future events.

  1. Patients or caregivers with experience of the issues addressed by the event participate in its delivery, and appear in its physical audience.

Patients will be speaking at a number of sessions during the Fall Series. Patient speakers, conference patient advisors, and patient attendees will receive complementary admission to the full Fall Series, enabling them to virtually attend all sessions and talks if they so choose.

  1. Travel and accommodation expenses for patients or caregivers participating in the advertised program are paid in full, in advance. Scholarships are provided by the conference organizers to allow patients or caregivers affected by the relevant issues to attend as delegates.

As the Fall Series is fully virtual and as such travel will not be required, however we are here to assist and coordinate as needed for virtual viewing.

There will be complimentary admission to all patient attendees for the full Fall Series (September 15, October 13 and November 17 2020).

  1. The disability requirements of participants are accommodated. All applicable sessions, breakouts, ancillary meetings, and other program elements are open to patient delegates.

The 2020 Infoway Partnership Fall Series will be fully virtual, available to anyone wishing to attend, and all conference sessions are open to all participants.

  1. Access for virtual participants is facilitated, with free streaming video provided online wherever possible.

The 2020 Infoway Partnership Fall Series will be fully virtual, available to anyone wishing to attend, and all conference sessions are open to all participants.

The full 2020 Infoway Partnership Fall Series will also be uploaded to Canada Health Infoway’s YouTube channel following the series, made aware through Infoway’s website and conference details.

The Twitter hashtag #ThinkDigitalHealth will be actively promoted prior to and during the series so that participants, as well as those unable to attend the virtual sessions, can join the conversation and discuss presentations, key learnings, etc.

The conference will request presentation slides from all speakers, and host all that are made available on our website for free viewing and downloading.
