Engaging with Patients During Digital Health Week

Posted on October 28, 2015 by Shelagh Maloney

Earlier this year, we held a #HCSMCA tweet chat on our upcoming Digital Health Week to ask for input on what the focus of the week should be. And while there were lots of great ideas and discussions, one that stood out was that you wanted patients included.

@Couragesings summed it up with the following tweet:

So, we’ve taken this great suggestion to heart. Here are several ways we’re encouraging you, as Canadians/ patients/care givers, to participate in this year’s Digital Health Week, which runs from Nov. 16-22.

  1. Share an image to #thinkdigitalhealth. What does digital health mean to you? Post a picture to #thinkdigitalhealth or our Facebook page.
  2. Update your Twitter and Facebook profile picture. Show your support for digital health and help spread the word by updating your profile picture with the digital health week badge.
  3. Join the #HCSMCA tweet chat. We will once again connect with the HCSMCA community to discuss digital health in Canada. Mark your calendars for November 18 and stay tuned for details on the chat topics. We hope to hear from many of you on your hopes for and concerns about digital health in Canada.
  4. eHITS Public Forum. The eHITS Public Forum: Get connected to better your health! is an interactive opportunity to learn more about how digital health technology is being used in BC by patients and health care providers. Attendees can join in-person or via webcast. There will also be an active tweet chat happening during the forum using the hastag #eHITSbc. I will be attending the forum in person and @Infoway will be joining the online chat. Look for me at the event or connect with us via the chat to ask us your questions.

At Infoway, we believe that Canadians should be active members of their care team and this is why we hope to hear from you during Digital Health Week.

Have a comment about this post? We’d love to hear from you.
