Canadians to Benefit from Telehomecare, Improved Medication Management

Government of Canada allocates $50 million to digital health over two years

(Toronto) – Federal funding for digital health will benefit Canadians for generations to come and improve health system efficiency, said Michael Green, President and CEO, Canada Health Infoway.

“We look forward to innovating with our partners to improve patient outcomes by increasing telehomecare,” said Green. “We will also help clinicians increase patient safety with the development of a multi-jurisdiction e-prescribing solution to improve accuracy, reduce errors and improve patient outcomes.”

The federal government allocated $50 million over two years to Infoway in its 2016-2017 budget, tabled earlier today.

“On behalf of the patients, clinicians, governments and administrators working together to improve the health and health care of all Canadians, I extend my sincere appreciation to the government of Canada for providing the funding needed to move Canada’s digital health agenda forward,” added Green.
