Over the past two decades, Infoway has committed to accelerating pan-Canadian progress on health system modernization, recently focusing on helping to create a world-class interoperable system to better serve Canadians.
Infoway’s Shared pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap, developed in collaboration with the provinces and territories, reveals the steps federal, provincial, and territorial governments, in collaboration with industry partners and clinical leaders, will need to take to deliver a patient-centric model for safe, secure access and management of electronic health information across the nation.
“We are excited to welcome Canada Health Infoway as benefactors of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise International,” says David S. Mendelson, MD, FACR, co-chair of the IHE International Board. “Their recognition of the important work IHE has accomplished to date and their willingness to support and influence the evolving standards work as HIT evolves is greatly appreciated!”
“In an era where seamless information exchange is paramount, joining forces with this global consortium reaffirms Canada’s commitment to advancing interoperability and acts as an important step toward advancing an interconnected, seamless, and patient-centric healthcare system,” says Attila Farkas, Senior Director of Interoperability at Canada Health Infoway.
This exciting announcement demonstrates Canada’s commitment to international health data standards and promotion of local innovation.
