Overview
Infoway helps to improve the health of Canadians by working with partners to accelerate the development, adoption and effective use of digital health across Canada. Through our investments, we help deliver improved quality and access to care, and more efficient delivery of health services for patients and clinicians. Infoway is an independent, not-for-profit organization funded by the federal government.
Canada Health Infoway is working with Health Canada, the provinces and territories, and industry stakeholders to operate and maintain PrescribeIT®, a national service that enables prescribers to electronically transmit a prescription to a patient’s pharmacy of choice. This service is already reducing the use of paper prescriptions, enhancing patient safety, improving continuity of care and facilitating better health outcomes for Canadians.
Since its launch in 2017, PrescribeIT® has secured agreements with 13 provinces and territories and is up and running in select communities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island. Plans call for roll-out to additional provinces across the country in the coming months.
PrescribeIT® works with 45 community pharmacy companies, with local, regional and national reach, representing more than 7,000 pharmacies. Over 15,000 prescribers, representing more than nine million patients are enrolled in the service.

Position Purpose
The Specialist, Prescriber Relations & Deployment will be individually responsible growing the number of prescribers using PrescribeIT. Key accountabilities include driving enrollments, deployments and utilization of PrescribeIT with physicians and nurse practitioners across the province. In doing so, you will lead the prescriber through many components of the customer journey, including prospecting, engagement, overcoming objections, contracting and deployment of PrescribeIT. This cycle will be repeated at an individual community/regional practice level with hundreds of prescribers, with the successful candidate becoming a key contributor to the department’s annual targets.
Major Responsibilities
- Outbound/Inbound Sales - market the benefits, no cost, and use of PrescribeIT to the provincial/regional communities to prospect and develop new prescriber/clinic leads
- Execute on a provincial/regional plan of prescriber/clinic leads and complete site deployment activities including on-site meetings, compliance activities i.e. ID validations
- Achieving weekly targets – prescriber enrollment, deployment and utilization of PrescribeIT
- Work closely with the PrescribeIT deployment team (internal and external) to ensure deployment commitments are successfully met
- Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM) to track lead generation, pipeline management, forecasting and lost opportunity tracking with accurate notes in the system
Education
- Undergraduate Degree in Sales/Health/Marketing
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of community physician sales experience; proven track record of direct sales success
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of community physician digital health solutions (EMR) and clinic operations
- Ability to travel onsite for up to 75% of time in Ontario
- Bilingualism is an asset
