Position Purpose
The Senior Manager, Strategy and Planning will support the development and execution of Infoway’s business, program and operational plans, under the direction of both the Director, Portfolio Strategy and Vice President of Digital Health Interoperability, with a focus on Digital Health Interoperability’s strategic, business and operational plans, as well as supporting program management, regional rollouts, and adoption. This position will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, facilitate access to people and materials in support of the business and program plans, provide critical review and feedback of project/program deliverables and support the management team in program/project monitoring and status reporting.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead and support pan-Canadian business planning/roadmap activities, including collaborating with internal/external stakeholders to define business and program goals, conduct industry research/analyses and gather stakeholder input to inform direction/decision-making, as well as roadmap development, refresh and downstream planning, and maintenance to achieve goals.
- In addition, support annual business planning efforts to continuously refine pan-Canadian roadmap and program plans.
- Structure and design pan-Canadian programs for launch.
- Manage and support the execution of interoperability initiatives, including monitoring of programs/plans to ensure completion of work streams in-line with timelines, taking corrective measures and escalation as appropriate, and supporting transition of programs to operations.
- Continuous engagement with cross functional teams, ensuring clear communication of plans, timelines, and expectations to promote collaboration.
- Define clear business outcomes, performance measures (i.e. KPIs) and monitor performance against goals in collaboration with the Performance Analytics team
- Scope new/emerging opportunities based on research, emerging trends/intelligence, and stakeholder input to maintain Infoway’s leadership position in the interoperability/virtual care landscape.
- Conduct evaluations/due diligence, develop business cases, and provide recommendations to leadership to inform decision-making
- Identify, develop, and manage partnerships with leading national and global entities to share knowledge/resources, provide input to influence strategic directions, and align on initiatives to enable advancement of interoperability/virtual care programs.
- Develop communications collateral for stakeholder audiences including Health Canada, Infoway Board of Directors, jurisdictions, industry partners and other stakeholders to generate support and buy-in of strategies and initiatives through development of proposals, reports, and other materials.
- Support reputation management efforts to ensure positive brand image and staying abreast of emerging industry trends and maintaining Infoway’s market position in interoperability landscape.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Sciences, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience; preferable 2 of which within a large strategy consulting firm (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of Canada’s healthcare system and/or digital health environments
- Strategic and business planning expertise required
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations for executive audiences
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with multiple business streams and stakeholders
- Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize data, trends, leading practices, and other business intelligence in support of strategic positioning and operational excellence
- Exceptional PowerPoint and story-telling skills required to support the development of deliverables, and collateral for executive audiences
- Strong Excel modeling skills to support business case development
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and willingness to embrace ambiguity on a regular basis
- Team player who embodies coachability and understands the importance of the role as a key support partner to the entire program team
