Overview
Canada Health Infoway (Infoway) helps to improve the health of Canadians by working with patients, stakeholders, and health system partners to accelerate the development, adoption and effective use of digital health across Canada. Through thought-leadership, investments, and strategic initiatives, we help deliver improved quality and access to care, and more efficient delivery of health services for patients and clinicians. Infoway is an independent, not-for-profit organization funded by the federal government.
Infoway collaborates with Health IT industry partners and other pan-Canadian Health organizations to fulfill its mandate. Through the digital health interoperability funding allocated by Health Canada, Infoway will execute the agreed upon long term workplan to maximize investments in digital health solutions, improve interoperability, develop common national standards and help health care providers and users sustain & grow the use of digital health over the long term. Together with our jurisdictional, clinical, patient and industry partners, the investments we make today will form the foundation of tomorrow’s health care system.

Position Purpose
We are looking for a strong Director to be part of a multi-functional team working collaboratively with relevant health care stakeholders (Federal, Provincial, Territorial (FPT) stakeholders, clinicians, pan-Canadian health organizations, private sector) to deliver on an ambitious set of connected care objectives.
This role will support the department’s Vice President and team leaders to deliver on a portfolio of services to enable the business teams, including work in the areas policy, privacy, legislative & regulatory frameworks, as well as of modernizing Infoway’s online community experience. You will play a critical role in leading, guiding and supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders in delivering these initiatives by adding leadership, facilitation, stakeholder management capability and capacity to the team. The position requires an individual who likes a demanding environment, is dedicated to excellence, extremely well organized, can work well to short deadlines, collaborates well with their peers, and uses their initiative. This individual excels at overcoming obstacles and has demonstrated experience in moving projects forward.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead Stakeholder Engagement in support of the enablement streams of work and deliverables.
- Be an effective contributor on work undertaken to align with partners on legislative modernization, pan-Canadian data sharing agreements, and consent management, in support of digital health interoperability roadmap broadly through research, writing and engagement.
- Provide senior level support focused on modernizing Infoway’s digital assets and the online ‘front door’ to optimize the user experience working.
- Research and write/develop content supporting the various streams of work, including presentations, briefing notes, fact sheets, articles, white papers, online content, etc.
- Inform and support the development of materials and campaigns, in collaboration with the organization’s corporate communications and public affairs office.
- Support the development of a strong and relevant internal communications competency.
- Foster collaboration and coordination among project teams and external stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
- Maintains excellent stakeholder relations, reputation management and risk mitigation strategies.
- Supports the organization’s business process requirements, including meeting management, budget management, purchase requisitions and invoice processing.
Education
- Undergraduate Degree required
- Professional certification or education in law, health policy management, privacy, security, or other relevant area an asset
Qualifications & Skills
- 10+ years’ experience.
- Advanced writing, communications, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Sound planning, judgement, and decision-making skills.
- Experience building and managing relationships in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills and the ability to communicate new ideas and findings, including persuasive narratives, along with recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, excellent political and business acumen.
- Understanding of the federal and provincial political environment.
- Marketing, communications, public relations or business certificate is an asset.
- Ability to converse and/or write in French are an asset.
