Board of Directors

Infoway is accountable to its Board of Directors and to its Corporation Members (the deputy ministers of health for the federal, provincial and territorial governments). The  Board includes two federal appointees, five provincial/territorial appointees, and four-six independent directors.

Chair of the Board

Dr. Peter W. Vaughan was appointed Chair of Canada Health Infoway’s Board of Directors effective March 1, 2017.

Kimberley (Kim) Brooks

Vice Chair of the Board
Purdy Crawford Chair in Business Law, Dalhousie University, Halifax

Kim Brooks is the Purdy Crawford Chair in Business Law at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where she served as Dean from 2010-2015, and she is a technical tax law expert with the International Monetary Fund.

Richard Audet

Appointed by the Conseil des ministres on May 1, 2013, Richard Audet holds the position of sous‐ministre associé at the Direction générale des technologies de l'information of the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) since June 10, 2013.

Lyle Bouvier

Lyle Bouvier has more than 20 years of experience in public and private practice, as a litigation lawyer for the Department of Justice Canada, as a Federal Crown Counsel, and as a partner at Miller Thomson LLP. He is currently Vice President, Corporate Services, for Points Athabasca Contracting Limited.

David Brown

Counsel, Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP

David Brown has returned to Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP as Counsel focusing on the Capital Markets and Corporate/Commercial practices, following seven years as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC). Prior to joining the OSC, he was a senior corporate law partner with a predecessor firm to Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg for 29 years, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and reorganization.

Kim Butler

With more than 25 years of executive financial and operational experience with Canadian and a multinational organization, Kim has demonstrated extensive accomplishments in areas of financial management, corporate financing, strategic planning, acquisitions, operations, and investor relations.

Karen Herd

Director
Deputy Minister of Health, Seniors and Active Living, Government of Manitoba

Karen Herd assumed her role as Deputy Minister of Health for Manitoba on July 8, 2013. She joined Manitoba Health in 2005 as Executive Director, Finance and in 2008, became the Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Financial Officer.

Abby Hoffman

Paul Glover was appointed Associate Deputy Minister of Health Canada effective July 8, 2013. Prior to his appointment, Paul was Assistant Deputy Minister of the Health Products and Food Branch (HPFB). HPFB takes an integrated approach to managing the health-related risks and benefits of health products and food through the regulatory system.

Tom Maston, CA, CHE, was appointed Deputy Minister of New Brunswick’s Department of Health in February 2014. Prior to this appointment, he had been the Assistant Deputy Minister of the department’s Corporate Services Branch for the last six years.

Barb Hambly

Observer to the Board

Barb Hambly has extensive experience as an executive health leader in Canada. She was VP, Public Affairs, with LifeLabs Medical Laboratories from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that she was VP with the inaugural executive at Alberta Health Services, and held a variety of roles with its predecessor health regions including Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, Human Resources.
