Roles at Infoway

Infoway has function-based departments, each with a specific mandate. These are:

Investment Strategy and Alliances

This business unit leads the development of strategies and plans that achieve Infoway's business goals.  As well, Investment Strategy and Alliances establishes and maintains relationships and alliances with stakeholders in provincial/territorial, public and private sectors.

Positions within the Investment Strategy and Alliances business unit include; Strategy and Planning Experts, Business and Research Analysts along with Alliance and Industry Executives.

Solution Architecture

This business unit leads the development of the business and technical solution architecture for the pan-Canadian interoperable EHR. The group works closely with our partners on defining the overall architectural framework and the architecture for specific opportunities and projects. The staff also conducts technical due diligence on our investments. The group also has a mandate on standards (messaging, vocabulary and information architecture), and information technology privacy and security.

Positions within the Solution Architecture business unit include; Enterprise and Application Architects, Privacy and Security Architects, HL7 Messaging Experts, Clinical Vocabulary Experts, Technical Standards Experts, and Subject Matter Experts.

Investment Programs Management

The Investment Programs Management business unit leads the implementation and monitoring of Infoway investments in projects within the investment programs targeted in the business plan.

Positions within Investment Programs Management business unit include; Program Directors, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Project Coordinators, Change and Evaluation Specialists, Project Control Officers, and Knowledge Management Specialists.

Corporate Departments:

Finance

This business unit is responsible for managing the investment portfolio, the Corporation's financial resources, the implementation and maintenance of the procedures and systems for the financial control of the organization and the safeguarding of assets.  This includes the development of management accounting and control systems, the financial planning, the financial data processing and the preparation and analysis of internal and external financial information.

Positions within our Finance business unit include; Budget Analysts, Accountants, Financial Reporting Specialists, Project Finance Specialists, Payroll Specialist and Accounts Payable.

Information Management and Technology

This business unit is responsible for information management activities and services as well as for delivering quality services in the areas of technology systems support, hardware and software maintenance, help desk support, network operations, telecommunications, and business systems analysis.

Positions within our IMT business unit include Information Management and Technology Specialists, such as Information Management and Network/Telecommunications/Desktop support staff.

Procurement

This business unit leads the acquisition of goods and services necessary to the operation of the business, including identification of needs, competitive bids process, vendor selection, negotiation and contracting.

Positions within our Procurement business unit include Procurement Specialists.

Compliance

This business unit provides advice in defining and updating corporate policies and processes, monitors compliance reports with respect to investment policies, and coordinates activities related to the annual compliance audit and other disclosure requirements, while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Positions within our Compliance business unit include Compliance Specialists.

Corporate Affairs

Corporate Affairs provides strategic leadership for internal and external communications, media relations and marketing.

Positions within Corporate Affairs include; Writers, Media Relations Specialists, Event Planning and Marketing Management staff.

Human Resources

Human Resources provides strategic leadership for the development and maintenance of Human Resources policies, procedures and programs designed to provide effective support and guidance for all operating functions of the business units.

Positions within Human Resources include HR Generalists with expertise in all fields within Human Resources.

Administration

Administration provides clerical, administrative and secretarial support for all operating functions of the business units.

Positions within Administration include Executive Assistants, Receptionists, Office Coordinators and Administrative Assistants.

Legal

Legal provides legal advice and support to all Infoway business units with the view to ensuring Infoway complies with its legal requirements while meeting its corporate objectives.

Positions within our Legal business unit include General Counsel.
