Infoway Background

Canada Health Infoway (Infoway) is a federally-funded, independent, not-for-profit organization with a membership comprised of the federal, provincial and territorial Deputy Ministers of Health. The Infoway mission is to invest in Electronic Health Record (EHR) initiatives that will accelerate the development and adoption of compatible electronic health information systems across Canada in order to provide health care professionals with rapid access to complete and accurate patient information. The goal is a sustainable, more cost-efficient Canadian health care system that can offer improved patient safety and better quality of care. Collaboration is key to these efforts and Infoway endeavours to share the knowledge and experience it has gained through ongoing information sessions with the private sector.

Information Meeting for Healthcare Information Technology Solution Providers - Summer 2007

The last series of Infoway information sessions for the private sector were held in June 2007.

The first set of sessions covered Infoway's Business Update, including current news on our business plan, activity across the country and the latest information from a local jurisdiction representative on area-specific eHealth plans.

The second set of sessions covered Infoway's Architecture and Standards Update. They included a morning session with an A&S overview and question and answer period, followed by an afternoon of 'primer' seminars on four different topics.
