Infoway Background

Infoway's mission is to accelerate the development and adoption of compatible electronic health information systems. These systems provide healthcare professionals with rapid access to complete and accurate patient information, enabling better decisions about treatment and diagnosis. The result is a sustainable, more cost-efficient healthcare system offering improved patient safety and better quality of care. Infoway invests in Electronic Health Record initiatives and then shares the knowledge and experience gained with jurisdictions across Canada to speed implementation and reduce risk. Infoway is an independent, not-for-profit corporation whose members are the federal, provincial and territorial deputy ministers of health.

Event overview:

Collaboration is key to achieving Infoway's mission. To help make this vision a reality, Infoway is conducting another series of meetings for the private sector to provide an update on activities and directions.

The agenda includes updates on Infoway's business plan, architecture and standards, projects and investment activity across the country. A representative from the local jurisdiction will provide an update on the jurisdiction's plans pertaining to Infoway's investment areas.

Following the presentations and a formal question and answer period, attendees are invited to join in a light lunch and an opportunity for informal discussion with the presenters and networking with other attendees.

This is a chance to hear about developments first hand from Infoway and its public sector partners within each region. Private sector input is valued and Infoway wants to know what its partners and clients are seeing in the marketplace and understand any issues relating to the advancement of the EHR agenda.

These sessions are focused on senior and middle management in sales, marketing, business development, product development and services.

The meetings will run approximately 2 hours.

Collaborating partners:

Canada Health Infoway is producing these Private Sector meetings in collaboration with ITAC (Information Technology Association of Canada), CHITTA (Canadian Healthcare Information Technology Trade Association) and AITS (Association de l'industrie des technologies de la santé).
